Does she actually like me? What do I do?

So I just asked a girl out last night. I did it in person. I told her I was going to stop by her house before I went home from a friends house. So I did that and asked her to come outside, and then I asked her out. After I asked her out she just kinda said "uhhh" and walked away and said I shouldn't take that the wrong way. I didn't expect her to give me an answer right away because that's the way she is. But I didn't know what to think of that. So then today I texted her as usual and started a normal conversation like nothing had happened. Then I eventually brought up the night before. She said she wanted to pretend it didn't happen. I said I wanted a straight yes or no. She said that she didn't want to ruin our friendship (we are best friends and in high school) so it was a no. She says she doesn't like me that way either, but I think she does. Everyone I talked to thinks she likes me too. I know her very well, and I think I can tell when she likes someone. Is she (possibly) lying only to protect our friendship because she thinks if she admits she likes me then I will insist on us dating? I just don't know what to do. She had to know I was going to ask her out when I told her I would stop by her house (I mean why else would I go to her house alone at 11 at night and ask her to come outside), so why would she say she would come outside if she was just going to say no? It doesn't make sense to me. So does she actually like me, and if so, how can I get her to admit it so we can at least try dating? Even though we are best friends, I know we would still be friends if we had a bad breakup. Or if she doesn't like me, how can I get her to like me? And if you could interpret all this as girl, that would be great.
