Power window rolls down, but not up.?

I have a 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP and the driver side window will roll down with no problem, but if I roll it down past about halfway it will not roll back up. Instead it slowly inches it's way up if I drive for a long time and occasionally hold the roll up button (I have to be holding the button for it to go up). What is the problem?
